This page is intended to provide a central location for the lab group to coordinate and schedule protein expressions.
Protein expression is one of the most time consuming and difficult procedures to schedule since you have to get the bacteria at just the right growth point at two different times - and you don't really know when that will be unless you check the O.D. (optical density at 600 nm)

You can either do all of this yourself if it is less complicated OR you can employ the help of a mentor or lab mate.If you work with someone, communication is KEY. You will need to let each other know
  • What steps each of you are doing
  • what time those steps take place
  • the Optical Density at those steps
